Programs

The Iron Sharpens Iron 4 My Sisters and She Speaks Wellness programs of Moore 4 Sisters Ministries were born from a deep desire, commitment, and vision that no woman of God shall walk alone in serving our faith-based communities.

She Speaks Wellness

The She Speaks Wellness program provides Black women clergy with several important prongs of support that are saving lives.

Inspirational interviews with women leaders and role models who provide practical strategies that other women can implement in their own walks of ministry.

These powerful interviews and stories highlight the real-world struggles and solutions faced by Black women clergy and are transformative not only for the audience but also for the interviewees themselves by giving them a platform to share their stories.

For instance, Dr. Twanna House was devastated by deep clinical depression and experienced several suicide attempts after being in a narcissistically abusive relationship.

After sharing her powerful story of recovery in an interview, she deepened her newly formed ministry, Beacon of Hope, in collaboration with NAMI Florida. She is now helping other women through her newly developed certification classes on Biblical mental health perspectives and a powerful podcast that has addressed the topic of narcissism in the pulpit.

Clergy Retreat Experiences that Emphasize Radical Rest and Story-Telling as Healing Tools For Black Women Clergy.

It all Starts with Sharing Our Stories

Our life-changing round table dialogues occur both in person and virtually and as an integral part of our Clergy Retreat experiences and also as community outreach apart from our retreats.

As First Lady, Diance Falcon commented with joyful tears, “You ladies just don’t know what it means to me to come here each week. Hearing your stories and sharing mine helps me to know I’m not alone and isolated—it is such a precious gift that I don’t get to experience anywhere else in my life.”

The Retreat Experiences

The She Speaks Wellness’ pilot program of clergy retreats aptly named, “She Speaks Hope” and launched in 2023 were born out of a collaboration with Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Aiki Healing, and Edge of Your Seat Consulting and funded by Columbia University’s (Teachers College, Mind, Body, and Spirituality Institute) Innovating Forward Grant, and St. David’s Foundation, and Central Texas Network Weavers and the Victorian Retreat House.

This unique model for a clergy retreat experience emphasizes:

  • Mindfulness practices of qi gong meditation and nervous system resets.
  • Curricula of gratitude and forgiveness reflections.
  • Food as medicine curricula for meals.
  • Radical rest in nature—the idea of surrendering into God’s quietness to restore one’s self.
  • Follow-up round table discussions (in person and virtually) monthly to create ongoing support as so often women lose the healing effects of retreats once they leave the in-person experience.

In addition, some of the participants of the clergy retreat have been granted scholarships (funded by the prestigious Hogg Foundation, Moore 4 Sisters Ministries, and Aiki Healing) into the Get Your Mojo Back year-long holistic healing journey where women receive deep support with mindfulness tools in a Christian environment in Zoom to process wounds and heal deeply from narcissistic abuse, so prevalent in many of our Black faith-based communities and churches.

One of the recipients of this scholarship, Rose Brown, commented, “I knew that I needed to come into stillness to heal deep grief and restore my physical health so this retreat and scholarship for sustained healing was right on time. I’ve learned to structure my time to integrate deep self-care, set boundaries so I am not ‘over-serving’ and burning out—and have integrated the stress reduction resets into my daily life.”
